Today, is the first day of a new frontier. (insert theme song from the twilight zone here) We went to bed the night before just like any other night. But, when we awoke, the house was filled with excitement. In our midst, Kaci - a 2nd grader, wise beyond her years; Cheyanne, a 1st grader ready to face the day as the cutest little blonde in her class; Robert - a Kindergartner in mourning because his life must truly be over now that he has to go to school every day; and Emma. She can't get everyone out of the house fast enough. She starts school on Tuesday. She is a first time pre-schooler and attends Rocky Point Weeschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She is very excited that she has a big kid back pack and lunch box.
Drop offs went quite well. I took the girls as they are on the same campus and Brandon took Robert. We had all the supplies in tow for each child. We were in Alaska during meet the teacher - not good timing for a trip- but we made the best of it. There is construction all around Kaci and Cheyanne's school so we got there early in order to park close. On the way to the door, Cheyanne's bag carrying all her supplies busted sending everything flying. I gathered it all up and carried it in my arms while Emma cried tugging at my pants for me to hold her. Of course she did. What a better time for a little desperation from my 3 year old who does not like crowds of people. It all ended ok. Walked everyone in and they were settled. Kaci's eyes followed me all the way down the hallway. She was a little nervous. Cheyanne was excited and I do think she expected a party in her honor once she entered the classroom. Brandon told Robert he had to go and Robert just dropped his little head and stared at the desk. When Brandon finally got him to look up, he had big old crocodile tears in his eyes. But, Daddy reassured him and Robert ended up having a great day. I still do not have the pick ups down yet. 3 kids get out at 3pm and are on 3 different campuses. One gets out at 2:50pm. We are experimenting!

I love the picture of Brandon reading to the kids. Does he do that every morning?
