Memorial Weekend

This memorial day was full of fun and lots of friends. Tony and Kourtney Landes and their kids, Kelcey and Kaleb were there. Tony and Kourtney's parents and siblings were also there camping. Jerry and Tawnya Menzdorf took Kolby on his first camping trip! Jeff and Jodie, Mason, and Reece Weyers came in for the day, along with Brandon and Lauren, Tristan, Harper, and Jessie Claire Saxon. Colton and Tina, Calista, Dylan, Nathan, and Austin Aardal were camping for the weekend. Bobby and Jessica, Caden and Morgan Cowan were there, along with Jessica's parents and grandparents. Bobby's parents came down for the day. Every now and then, we would see a boat full of college life friends fly by, too.

The weekend was fun but not without injury. Kaci knocked Emma off the steps of the camper. Austin fell from the very top step of the camper. Dylan banged his head on the tongue of the camper along with several others. Kaci had multiple bike injuries. Robert got a black eye from the jet ski while riding with Tony. Dylan got slapped in the face by one of those markers on the campsites that left a huge goose egg. Emma got a fish hook in the hair. (not the head, just the hair - she thought she was injured) Kaleb left with some skinned limbs. I'm sure there are others that are not listed here!

Brandon calls campers and boats portable memory makers. We made a lot of memories this weekend. Praise the Lord for great friends, family, and that no one was really hurt too bad!

Tina and Austin, I think (their colors were switched that day) Austin and Nathan are twins. Nathan usually wears blue, but Daddy dressed them that day.

Will she make it? (Tina and Colton)

Yes she will!
(but not before she fell backwards in the boat!)

Robert's class field trip to Dinosaur Valley

Robert had is last field trip with preschool to Dinosaur Valley. Mom and Emma went along for the fun. Emma and Robert both love rocks. Emma found two that she especially loved. One looked like a butterfly and one looked like a ONE according to her. She wanted to keep them and take them home but it's against the rules.

Mother's Day

Yesterday was mother's day. We went to church, had a continuation of raising children in Sunday School, and heard a great message dedicated to mothers. Gary's messages are always so applicable, encouraging, but what I love most is that he doesn't preach to make another happy. He preaches the truth and the truth doesn't always 'tickle' the ears but it's always life changing.

The kids gave me all their sweet hand made gifts from Sunday School and then off we went to Mi Familia for lunch. Our usual Sunday lunch date friends had to miss because of sick children. Happy Mother's Day, Tina! We were sitting there at lunch and suddenly the kids got all excited and started yelling 'Mama, look behind you! Look behind you!' I immediately thought 'which of you do I spank first for yelling in the restaurant?' But, then something caught the corner of my eye. Sunflowers??? I turned further and saw Chris standing there with a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers. He had surprised us and drove in to hand deliver his mother's day gift!

Boy, Mother's Day can't get any better than this! The love of my life and all 5 children here sitting around this tiny square table! I can only think of two things that could even possibly improve it.... if Cotey were sitting around the table with us and if I could hug my mom in person.
